WE HAVE BUBBLES!!!!
The Boy ™ has been fighting potty training in every way he can. We truly believe the popular theory that MANY kids are training late, with the best explaination being that he is exercising the only power he has - to NOT potty in the potty.
Yesterday, we told him that he was not getting diapers during the day - only for bed - his school is bumping him to the no diapers room starting Monday. Well, last night didn’t go so well, and neither did this morning.
Zoom to this afternoon. The Wife had set him on the potty while I cooked up a Kielbasa comparison (Hillshire Farms vs. Carolina Pride - I found each to have their own strengths - The Wife prefered Hillshire), and I came in with the goods to hear him screaming on the potty. I got him a book, and he read. He finished, and asked to get off. He then started to insist that he needed a diaper NOW, and wanted to go to bed. I stalled, and after 2 minutes of pleading, the sound every parent longs to hear danced in my ears. The wife came running, and basked in the glory.
Not an hour and a half later, the boy was upstairs with the wife (I was watching MLS allstars vs. Chelsea) and I heard a rush to he potty. SUCCESS! AGAIN!!
We’ll see if this is growth, or luck…

Keep up the good work Max! You can also try the yellow and blue make green magic trick. (Blue tabs you put into you the tank to make the bowl water blue.) Then in a little while, target practice with Cheerios. These are just some of the suggestions my brother’s ped. made when he was at that stage.
