In case you were wondering…

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

I’ve been relatively quite because, well, I just got slaughtered at work.  I have spent 90 hours over the last 9 days (and I had Thanksgiving off and spent 4 on Friday), with 36 hours logged over the last 62…
I’m tired…
I’ll fill in why later…

Happy Turkey-Day!!

Thursday, November 24th, 2005

I’ve been smoking a bird for a few hours now, but it’s only at 150F, due to the very strong winds we have outside. It’s all Good.
I have much to be thankful for, as probably most of us do as well. Here’s hoping you and yours have (had) an enjoyable Holiday!

The Game – Update

Monday, November 21st, 2005

We lost.  To be honest, we didn’t look like a team deserving of a play-off spot, let alone fighting for a chance at a seed.  I think Jim Mora would have much to say about our play…
To add insult to injury, Laugh-ayette got the last at-large bid to the playoffs.  They will get creamed at [...]

The Game

Friday, November 18th, 2005

It’s that time of year – the weekend before Thanksgiving can only mean one thing : the most played rivalry in all of football is upon us.  The 141st meeting between Lehigh and La(ugh)fayette will take place in Bethlehem, PA this year, in nicely equipped Goodman Stadium.  The Engineers (never the Mountain Hawks) are playing for [...]

HOLY COW!

An External Heart. I don’t know which is more amazing: The fact that this happened at all (and functions) or that she is still alive. Currently, there are no pictures of the infant, and I kind of hope they keep it that way (only kind-of, Curiousity is a tough beast to tame).

TIME Essay

Friday, November 11th, 2005

There was a REALLY good essay on the last page of the current Newsweek TIME written by a Nobel-prize winning physicist (Eric Cornell) on ID and Science. I think it was incredibly well stated, and I just found the link to it. I will also preserve it for posterity, but only post it if TIME [...]

Still alive and kicking…

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

I’ve been Mega busy at work, and computer time has been limited at home. I am still alive though. I just posted a jamungous response over at Literal Barrage, and I may bring it over, pending discussion and whatnot.
I also had a comment in moderation that was just plain loopy. So to the person who [...]

I had a hectic Friday, and the mind does strange things

Sunday, November 6th, 2005

Friday morning was a whirlwind of calling contractors, planning Thanksgving shutdown activities, and everythign in between.  So, to cope, my mind did something strange – it popped this oldie-but-goodie into my head:
Abba Abba Zoot Zoot Eba Uba Zat Zat A Nom Nom Abba Abba Zoot Zoot Eba Uba Zat Zat A Nom Nom A [...]

Let’s hear about the bloody plans already!

Friday, November 4th, 2005

It’s election season, and in Virginia, we have pretty much a turnover of State Gov. up in the air. So, all candidates on all sides are touting their plans, how their plan is better then the other guy’s plan. Of course, NO ONE TELLS ME (THE VOTER) WHAT THEIR PLAN REALLY IS!!!
Both major [...]

Ummm….Steak

Friday, November 4th, 2005

Yesterday was the 4-year anniversary, and we decided to go out to Chili’s to try out their new steaks.  We both chose the Filet sitting on melted brie with applewood bacon and blue cheese sprinkled on top.  Man was that good.  HIGHLY recommended.
The boy got a cheeseburger.  Needless to say, he felt like he got a [...]
